Touring Sound Engineer
I had a super interesting opportunity to come into an already established run of Noël Coward's "Blithe Spirit" which had been running for a few weeks at Salisbury Playhouse with Wiltshire Creative and take it up to Blackpool's absolutely stunning Grand Theatre!
The Salisbury Playhouse didn't need to mic the cast, however the decision was made by Sound Design and the current tech crew that mics would be needed for the shows we had in the Grand Theatre.
We custom fitted DPA 4061 core+ microphones into wigs, caps and over ears, keeping them hidden from view as best as possible, but still keeping their top tier sound quality. Then I got to sit FOH to mix these on Yamaha's super-intuitive QL1 console.
